New Neighbourhood

(2010 -2012)

New neighbourhood Is a series of large scale B&W photographs which depict the city of Beer Sheva In south of Israel. I was exploring these spaces mostly by foot in a route that began at the first home I can remember living in. Moving towards the end of the street, then to the end of the old neighbourhoods. Later expending even more to the borders of the city – where the new neighbourhoods were being build. The photos deepen the tensions and the discontinuity, that are extracted from this specific environment. The Sisyphean connection between the city and the desert is a main element in this work.
